WOMEN IN AVIATION TAMPA BAY CHAPTER
Officer and Committee Positions
The Women in Aviation Tampa Bay Chapter has gained momentum over the past several years and as a result many opportunities within the chapter are available for member participation. Requirements for officer, chair, committee positions include
1. Current WAI membership.
2. Current WAITB membership.
Member candidates should have a commitment and desire to help our chapter grow and reach as many families as we can in our community. One of our missions is to help educate girls (all children) by helping them become aware of the many possibilities of a future in the industries of aviation and aerospace.
Officer and member positions include:
President
The highest office responsible for upholding the aims and purposes of the bylaws of our chapter. Carry out duties with the volunteer help of the officers and committees who will look to you for guidance.
Vice President
This high office has the ability to fulfill the duties of the office which includes assuming the duties of President in his/her absence. You will work closely with the President and individual members for the benefit of the Chapter.
Secretary
The duties of secretary include recording minutes of all Executive Board and General Meetings of the Chapter. You are the custodian of these important records of actions, decisions and policies of your Chapter and are to make them available to Officers and Members at all times.
Treasurer
Treasurer is the guardian of the Chapter’s finances, to collect, disburse and maintain accurate records of these transactions. You will prepare a treasurers report of the Chapter finances and present these reports at each regular meeting. You will assist International Headquarters in collection and forwarding WAI dues.
Membership Chair
The membership committee updates the member data list maintaining membership dues payments to both WAI and WAITB. Assist with maintaining the eBlast/newsletter mailing list by sharing new member emails with the eBlast editor.
Outreach Chair
Develops and maintains contacts with community partners such as schools, girls/boys clubs, etc. Seeks opportunities to involve WAITB in the community.

Additional Volunteer opportunities:
Girls in Aviation Day planning committee
Much goes into making GIAD our biggest day of the year. Volunteers can help on this committee by distributing the workloads of event promotion, volunteer coordination, sponsor coordination, event setup, t-shirt management and more.
Social Media/eBlast/website maintenance
Volunteers can help here by promoting WAITB through different social media outlets. If you enjoy writing, we would love to include your articles in the eBlast.
Annual event planning
Volunteers needed to help share ideas, plan and host monthly events.
All genders are invited to join any committee.
Members may participate in more than one committee.
